This hotel exceeded my expectations. The staff was attentive and accommodating. The luxurious amenities made me feel pampered and relaxed. I could enjoy the garden area, where I had great moments of peace and tranquility. The restaurant offered an amazing culinary experience with a wide variety of gourmet dishes that will delight your senses.

, The leisure/ TV room was a bit lacking in terms of entertainment options. Only a limited number of channels were available.

A beautiful hotel, great location and fabulous staff.

Hotel in central position , good for Colonial Zone visit , and near to the main nightlife activity . The rooms are not enough lighted by the sun .

Humidity smell in the room

The location is excellent, could benefit from more live music, only one night they had a guitarist, which played bossanova, excellent!

They lack a spa and exercise room.

Hotel had a great location nice and clean, but prices for food are redicule expencer.

Hotel Frances is a very tranquil, clean, and well cared for place to stay in the bustling colonial zone of Santo Domingo, just two short blocks from the touristy Calle El Conde. Because of the small size of Hotel Frances (only 19 rooms), the staff seemed to know and give personal attention to each and every guest. As a single female traveler, that attention made me feel very comfortable and safe…and I should add it was very professional, almost business-like attention (not the typical, almost-flirty attention typical of Dominican places). The gardens and room appointments really made the hotel feel like a respite from the city of Santo Domingo.

As other reviewers mentioned, food & drink prices at Hotel Frances were high so I ate most of my meals elsewhere (and there were many, many places nearby to choose from!). I must say, though, everything I ordered from the hotel was of exceptional quality and presentation, which actually made it worth the price if you’re able to afford it.

Very nice, historical property with only 19 rooms. Excellent restaurant and good service.

On the edge of the Zona Colonial.

Ther is no fitness or swimming pool, the breakfast is poor, pension style like.

The front desk people were terrible. I do not believe the french want american customers. Also the maintenance of the hotel was bad, needs painting, etc. also when checking out I had trouble receiving my voucher and also they said they could not confirm that I had prepaid.

It was a nice hotel very clean great service very cozy comfy nice beds clean bathroom nice architecture and style

Just the expensive tax of the country nothing about the hotel itself, I thought the buffet breakfast was a little too e pensive
